About little red acorn
Little Red Acorn is a 501(c)(3) non-profit in Georgia whose mission is to elevate awareness and support for careers in the trades by fostering meaningful connections between education and real-world applications. We believe that with the right engagement and educational opportunities, individuals can pursue fulfilling and stable careers in various trades. Our approach involves leveraging our extensive network of industry professionals and local businesses to create interactive experiences that link classroom learning directly to future career opportunities.
We are dedicated to bridging the gap between students and community businesses, not only by connecting them through educational initiatives but also by providing business services to these local enterprises. This dual approach strengthens our community’s economic foundation and enhances learning outcomes by integrating practical business insights into the educational process.
We are committed to supporting both students and educators, recognizing that community involvement is essential to nurturing their development. By fostering strong community relationships, we aim to empower schools, encourage continuous improvement, and introduce modern tools and methodologies. At Little Red Acorn, we are dedicated to the success of our students and educators, believing their achievements are integral to the vibrancy and health of our community.
In addition to fundraising events and campaigns, Little Red Acorn also offers business and professional services to small businesses to help reduce costs and improve operations. We offer services like business and systems analysis, onboarding of new employees, recruiting consultation, and training classes. We also offer customized engagements for specific business needs. Our newest addition is our printing services which allows companies a streamlined manner in which to order merchandise, uniforms, and other SWAG.
Little Red Acorn's history
growing

together
Solid Careers.
Real Opportunities.
What started off as a nonprofit aiming to educate youth about the trades, Little Red Acorn's mission has always revolved around the importance of education and growing the trades industry. LRA was founded in 2022 by Chris Greenwood in Georgia and became a 501(c)(3) nonprofit in late 2022. Chris' vision was to be a resource for local schools to use as a way to offer students an alternative to college through furthering their education in the trades. Through interactive engagements, LRA would plant seeds in the minds of youth looking for a way to further their careers in the areas of plumbing, construction, electrician, HVAC, woodworking, etc.
In 2024, Little Red Acorn transformed its mission to furthering the trades by offering scholarships to adults looking to enter or further their careers in the trades. LRA also educates the community about the importance of the trades and the need for workers in the industry. Businesses can benefit from the networking LRA provides within the trades industry and are invited to be a part of making a difference in the community and the lives of students entering the field.
